Team sets new YDO record at MASO ’17
03.25.17
On Saturday, March 4th, YDO students competed in the Massachusetts Science Olympiad, held annually at Assumption College in Worcester. YDO has been participating in the tournament since 2008.
This year’s team again raised the bar for YDO, bringing home two 2nd-Place finishes & silver medals!
Across the many challenges, our middle schoolers designed and built flag-raising Rube Goldberg Machines, weight-bearing hovercraft, and egg-transporting wheeled vehicles. Their preparation was battle-tested in other subjects like Meteorology, Anatomy, and Write-It/Do-It.
As always, in the company of some of the Commonwealth’s top STEM schools, our kids represented themselves, YDO, and the City of Lawrence very well.
Congratulations to all of our competitors!
