Eimy Almonte

Eimy joined the YDO family during her senior year of college at Simmons University. Though she is a Lawrence native, she never had the opportunity to attend YDO as a kid. After her former professor, Dr. Nancy Lee (a current volunteer) introduced her to the program, Eimy spent her senior year volunteering, instructing various Life science-based classes, as well as performing research for her Senior Thesis, in which she wrote a paper on “A Qualitative Analysis Parents Point of View Towards Nonprofit Youth Development Organizations, in Comparison to Their Benefits.”

After graduating in May 2024 from Simmons University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Eimy remained at YDO for the remainder of the spring semester to help with the YDWoah! Showcase, at which she was offered a full-time position!

Eimy is dedicated to working with YDO kids, staff members, & volunteers to ensure that the Life Sciences programs run smoothly and that the YDO kids get the opportunity to be introduced to things they may not have learned before!
