KAMPERT NAMED “40 UNDER 40”

YDO’s Executive Director Mark Kampert has been selected as one of the Boston Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” for 2016. The BBJ 40 Under 40 spotlights business and civic leaders who are making a major impact in the community while also improving the civic health of the Boston area through volunteer work and other forms of philanthropy. The winners were honored on October 20th with a reception at the Boston Courtyard Downtown.

Kampert joined YDO as Executive Director in 2013. Since that time, YDO has developed a 10,000-sqft facility in Lawrence’s Everett Mill to offer a variety of in-house enrichment programs in both STEM and the arts. Kampert has overseen the establishment of the STEM Design Lab, a hands-on technology and engineering workshop, as well as the rapid growth and development of YDO Summer.

Asked by the BBJ to name his greatest accomplishment at YDO, Kampert said “There are many things we could point to – programs, partnerships, facilities development – but, what I’m most proud of is growing the organization without compromising the spirit and culture that made YDO’s founder so successful.”
