Ramon Tejada
Director of Upper School Transitions
Ramon joined YDO in July 2023, bringing with him over 13 years of experience in education as a teacher and administrator. His journey in education is deeply rooted in his own experience, having immigrated to Lawrence from the Dominican Republic at the age of 12. Ramon attended The Governor’s Academy, and later earned a BA in International Economics and Spanish from Lafayette College.
Ramon’s professional career reflects his dedication to fostering academic growth and community engagement. At Lawrence High School, he served as the Director of Family Engagement and Head of Enrollment, where he worked closely with students and families for three years, ensuring access to quality education and resources. Most recently, he returned to The Governor’s Academy as a teacher, dorm parent, and coach for basketball and baseball. Now at YDO, Ramon is thrilled to return to his Lawrence roots and is eager to support YDO families. His personal and professional experiences uniquely positioned him to guide students and families through the high school application process.
